Samsung launch Galaxy S6 Edge
Gone is the usual plastic, replaced on the Galaxy S6 Edge with a stronger shiny metal and a toughened curved glass finish.
Head of global marketing at Samsung, Younghee Lee says: “It takes 800 degrees Celsius just to curve the glass. When dealing with tens of millions of devices this was once impossible. But you know what? We did it. Now we have the first devices of this kind – the S6 Edge. It has an amazing viewing experience, a more comfortable grip and above all your friends will think it’s very cool.”
Samsung is hoping the premium S6 Edge will help it win back market share from its biggest competitor Apple.

“Also the special metal that we use is 50 per cent stronger than the metal in other high-end smartphones. My first language may not be engineering but I do know that this phone will not bend, ” says Lee taking a dig at Apple’s iPhone 6.
